Globally Grown Celebrates International Women's Day

Globally Grown and MIA collaborate on March 6th to honor women

Miami, FL: The flower importers who are a part of Globally Grown and Miami International Airport (MIA) have joined forces to honor women in celebrating International Women’s Day. On March 6th, both the flower industry and MIA employees will be handing out flowers to women throughout the airport. The theme, Celebrating International Women’s Day and International Flights and Flowers, highlights the importance of the relationship that Miami International Airport has developed with the flower industry—Flowers are the #1 cargo import at MIA.

On Friday, March 6th, there will be designated areas throughout the airport where staff members and flower company employees will be sharing information about celebrating International Women’s Day, while handing out flowers to women. The flower importers of Miami, a Globally Grown partner, will be providing the flowers for the event.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, event organizers will be complementing the event with the following strategies:

  • Using the hashtag #MIAflowers will allow both participants and employees to post and tweet information, pictures and express their feelings about the event in real-time.
  • Selfie picture boards will be placed throughout the airport for people to share their pictures and join MIA and the flower industry in celebrating International Women’s Day.
